Almost 3 and 4 Months

It is officially May. Which means that tomorrow my baby will be 4 months old, and in 10 days, my big baby will turn 3! I could not be more thankful for the two sweetest loves of my life.

Cecily is just my second little dream come true. My own baby gives me baby fever, she's so darling. Typically about 15 minutes after she falls asleep most nights, she laughs out loud in her sleep..happy girl. She is definitely teething these days. Evangeline got her first tooth at 4 1/2 months so I guess we'll see what happens this time, but for the last month at least she has been drooling and biting her hands. Of course she doesn't let her affect her mood much at all.

She is still much in the shadowing phase and we like to do "super baby". If I put my arms out like Superman and say "super baby" she'll try to do it too. She also said what sounded like "hello" the other day, repeating back and forth with Auntie and I. And if I remember correctly, Bean's first word was "hi". And as I previously posted, she is rolling over as well as kicking her body off of her little playgym. She starts underneath so that her hands hit the toys and then I find her scooted further back with her feet kicking them.

All of a sudden her hair is growing so fast and thickening up on the sides. Still pretty blonde too.

She knows her name and responds when I say it, as well as identifies me when I ask her, "where's Mama?"

Possibly my favorite thing about her right now is how much she loves to talk. If we have a busy day and she doesn't get much face-time, the second we're able to sit down and gaze at each other, she has so much to say! Of course it's hard to predict but at this moment I think she will wear her little heart on her sleeve and be a little more dependent than Evangeline is.

As for Evangeline, I can hardly believe that I was already post-due this time 3 years ago, just waiting for the best thing in my life to happen. This is the first year that she really has an opinion about what she wants for her birthday. She consistently asks for Baby Alive, My Little Ponies and Toy Story stuff. This is definitely when it starts to get fun because she'll be more excited than ever to open her presents, and I'll be just as excited to give them to her!

I admit, this is a tough moment with her. One I am still praying through to figure out the needs and desires within her that she is not able to communicate. Overall she is amazing, we have just hit a season of testing and a little too much attitude. I know that I need to get better about managing my time, laying aside my "to-dos" and just play or read more with her but sometimes that's so hard. Through it all though, while I know there is some jealousy of her baby sister, she has no animosity toward Cecily. She is always kind and loving to her, and always reminds people that they are not allowed to keep Cecily. So at least she's not trying to give her away! ;)

One battle we are facing and I'm not sure why, is her holding her pee pee until she is about to have an accident, then dancing around in the bathroom while crying trying to make it on time. Or, if we won't accompany her to the bathroom she will cry and dance around. Other times she is fine with it. We're trying to get her used to going by herself, and she had been doing it so well until a couple of months ago.

I'm also getting glimpses of teenage-hood like when I ask her to do something I get a response of a heavy sigh and a "fine Mom". What the!? I correct her and say "it's not 'fine Mom', it's 'yes Mommy". Here's to praying that we get that one down, geesh I am not ready for a teenager.

Some of my favorite things:
When she had her bruise on her eye, she called it her rainbow. She calls mirrors, "miras". And I LOVE it when she flies down the stairs on her bottom. She calls it "rumble tumble".

Also she says, "Papa's gonna come home and I'm gonna say, 'Papa!' and he's gonna say, 'Princess!'. and it's adorable because that's how they greet each other every time. And my most favorite thing that she and I do these days is secret password. She stands and blocks the doorway of the room I want to leave, and won't let me pass until I say the secret password. I usually have to say about 15 words before she hears the one she likes and lets me out. It's so cute.

That's it for our world right now. Goodnight!
