Last year I posted this photo I took of Evangeline as we watched, "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown". The scene where Schroeder plays sad music on the piano and Snoopy cries, Evangeline was filled with such sympathy for Snoopy she bawled her little eyes out.
Tonight we popped popcorn and watched it again and I really didn't think she'd have the same reaction being a year older, but Jayme and I both watched her little face during that scene, and sure enough, her mouth turned down, lip began to quiver and tears welled and when we asked her why she was crying and she tried to tell us, she just bawled, couldn't finish her sentence, and threw her face into my chest. And then I cried with her. Oh how I love her. I love to see that caring and vulnerability in her heart, especially in these 3 year old days where so much of life is spent adjusting and correcting attitudes. I wish I could replay it. I hate to see my baby sad but I love that peek into her heart and I love sharing emotions with her.
