Oh Cecily. Doodle. Doozer. Doodle McGroodle. McGrooz. Just a few of the names we call Cecily. She is a nut and I love it. Always busy. Always moving. Does not like to be contained. Lately my prayers have been to thank God for her sense of adventure, bravery, strong will, and independence. And for some reinforcements for her angels. She is always, always into something. I cannot remember the last time I was so assured of God's presence in each moment of our lives but Cecily reminds me of this daily. I constantly have those moments when that maternal instinct i.e. the Holy Spirit whispers to me..."where is Cecily? check on her." And sure enough I find her on the kitchen table, chewing on a stapler, at the top of the stairs, unrolling toilet paper, playing in the dog bowls, etc etc. But I refuse to dread these things and the fact that she is a busier child than I'm used to. I just pray for God to shape these things within her to His benefit and to give Jayme and I wisdom to know how she best receives love and discipline and direction. Because along with the moments of challenges, there are countless more moments of giggles, funny expressions, snuggles, and stinkin' cuteness!!
She is starting to talk so much. Unfortunately included in these new words are "no" and "mine". And she uses them frequently. We're working on it. She also says "please", "mo" for more, "night-night" (which is what she calls Bandit most of the time),"Papee" is paci, "Bobba" for bottle, "Mum-mum" (one of her favorite snacks), "cookie", "cracker", "Wa-wa" for water, "all done" which sounds like ahhhh-dee, "Nana", and she's starting to say "Grampy", "Up", "Down", "Baby", "Bye bye", "Puppy", "eye" "nose", "teeth", "ball", "balloon" - and she points out balloons whenever she sees one. We are working on "yes, Mommy". She says "pee pee" and should hopefully be easy to potty-train since she usually says "pee-pee" when she is going, especially when she is pooping. And if you call her she will very often reply with: "What?" she now says "Shiloh" too and she loves her big friend. Also she very often replies with "why?" after you tell her something. - 'Cecily put that back'- -"why?" Really!? you're 1!
She started going down the stairs all by herself within the last 2 weeks. She loves balls, adores climbing, drawing scribbles, opening drawers and pulling contents out, throwing Q-tips on the floor, turning on water faucets, opening any closed door, watching Avonlea eat, pointing out every puppy she sees while we're driving and saying "puppy. ooo-ooo." Because puppies and monkeys are very closely related in her world. Adores music - she loooves to sing and loooves to dance. She requests "Bananas" by the Fresh Beat Band as well as "Get up and go-go"and "Loco Legs." Loves to brush her teeth, and make a Bakugan case into a hat. While she loves to make a mess, she also really enjoy putting things away.
