Our Cecil-bee

Since I am so pitifully behind, I will catch you up on Cecily's milestones. She now has 8 teeth, (got #8 just after Thanksgiving, on November 26.) 4 on top and 4 on bottom, and a 9th poking through on the bottom right. She has mastered her "more" sign language October 6. Well, perhaps "mastered" isn't the right word as she more so claps her hands together. and we are still working on having "all done" be a different sign. She just wants to do the same motion as more.

She said "Papa" for the first time the week of October 5th. And "Mama" on November 1st. The same day, 11-1, she began blowing kisses.

And she started to a motion for "night-night" on October 24th. She puts a hand to her cheek and tilts her head onto her hand. It's enough to melt me. She loves her little "Bandit" lovey. Evangeline never attached to any toy so it's interesting to see how much Cecily loves this little thing. It's an instant soother. She snuggles him, lays him on her face, and sometimes just holds him while she sniffs him. Her sniffing thing is another thing we love. She scrunches up her little face and sniffs in and out loudly. Jayme especially loves it :)

This child loves her voice and loves to be loud. Even happy, she just loves to yell out. I am still figuring her out in many ways but what we see as of now is that she is a highly emotional little one. When she is happy, she is thrilled, but she has a temper you wouldn't believe too. Her temper shows up mostly when her plans are foiled, when we tell her not to put something in her mouth, or take something from her or pull her away from that very shiny thing she was on a mission to get. It also seems to go in phases. For instance, earlier this week I had 2 days of non-stop battle with her temper and today she was completely chill even if I took things from her.

It is hilarious when she knows she is doing something that she shouldn't, sometimes she looks at us, gauges that we are about to tell her "no", and yells at us before we've even had a chance to say it.

Her favorite foods these days are peas, green beans, Hawaiian rolls, chicken, sweet potatoes, grapes, and corn. She still only takes a 6 oz. bottle. She's never done more than that.

She's a dare-devil and adores it when her Papa throws her in the air. She LOVES peek-a-boo and will often do it as an ice-breaker around new people. She is very frustrated that she can't communicate more verbally at this point and she will default to peek-a-boo when she wants to connect with us. Sometimes she will also pull at her hair in frustration, definitely makes me wonder what she will say when she does begin to talk. Maybe all of this attitude is just the pure frustration of being non-verbal, and when she is able to talk it will all just disappear. (fingers crossed)

In the last week she has stood a few seconds by herself and is walking holding onto furniture and can crawl up the stairs...and fast. And somehow, in 3 weeks, my baby will be 1! Cannot imagine our lives without her.
