Everyone here is still recovering from the flooding. Some areas are much much worse than others.
One of the saddest things to me is the Opryland Hotel. This is where we go every year at the Christmas season and have dinner, walk around with the kids, look at lights. It's a tradition. And we may have to break it this year. I can't believe the tens of millions of dollars in damage there. Heart-breaking. They think maybe it will be open again by Christmas but it's a big maybe.
Here are a few photos from the Opryland Hotel:

See that restaurant with the yellow sign? "Stax": that's where we end up eating almost every year. The umbrellas you see at the bottom was another buffet restaurant that sat by the water. "Water's Edge" now completely submerged.
I truly can't believe how high the water got. That's an entrance to a hallway. Actually whenever I see this one I am eerily reminded of the Titanic for some reason.
BUT on a lighter note, this video taken by my friend Chrissy made it onto CNN. Pretty amusing. You gotta love boys. I will never fully understand them and their ability to risk their lives, safety, and reputation in the name of fun and adventure. Check it out.

So sad! I love Nashville and its just depressing watching the news. :(
Prayers!
I've cried about this a lot...pieces of my past and pieces of people I know and love devestated. Yours are the 1st pictures of Opryland that I have seen and I cried all over again...
The video, honestly as silly as kids are, of course I know right where that is...and right across there--that was "my" Sonic that I got chocolate shakes from when I was pregnant with Andrew. :(
This whole event makes me so sad.
