Spring!

Spring is breaking through here and I couldn't be more excited about it. We got into the low 70s yesterday and Jayme got home in the morning so we got right in the car and headed to one of our favorite walking trails. Every time we walk Evangeline finds a suitable stick to guide her. So cute. A river runs beside the trail with areas that allow you go to walk down to it. Avonlea loves to get her feet wet and take a drink and Evangeline dipped her feet in as well. It was a perfect reference from her book 'We're Going On A Bear Hunt'--"Oh oh a river. A deep cold river. Can't go over it. Can't go under it. Oh no, we have to go through it. Splash splosh, splash, splosh, splash splosh." She loved playing in the water.

Here is Evangeline earlier this month with another walking stick:

"Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers to-day;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.

Oh, give us pleasure in the orchard white,
Like nothing else by day, like ghosts by night;
And make us happy in the happy bees,
The swarm dilating round the perfect trees.

And make us happy in the darting bird
That suddenly above the bees is heard,
The meteor that thrusts in with needle bill,
And off a blossom in mid air stands still.

For this is love and nothing else is love,
The which it is reserved for God above
To sanctify to what far ends He will,
But which it only needs that we fulfil."
