This is Evangeline's protest to her Auntie Michelle moving to California. She doesn't like the idea one bit. Plus, it makes her mommy sad. Rebecca and Michelle are boarding a plane right about now to whisk them away to la la land. Rebecca will return next week and Michelle will stay. Now if you know me, then you know this...if you don't, I'm about to let you in on a little bit of me. I hate change. I've matured enough to accept it but I've never quite learned to like it very well. Have you ever seen "Father of the Bride" with Steve Martin? Well his character is my father almost to a tee and resembles me a fair bit too though I'd like to think I'm a little more rational. I'm already mourning our family nights-with even one person missing it's just not the same. But I have also learned not to fight God and He is always calling for change on some spectrum or another. You're not in a very good spot with Him if your nature refuses to embrace change, it will always be a struggle. Like I said, I've learned. All that to say that I know His hand is upon our little Moosh (Michelle) and His purposes for her are greater than my wants for her to be near.
In the words of Dr. Seuss:
"Congratulations! Today is your day. You're off to Great Places! You're off and away! You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the girl who'll decide where to go. You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care. About some you will say, 'I don't choose to go there'. With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet, you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street."
