Welcome Fall!

I feel so behind on my updates. So far this fall has not been kind to the Braun household. It has been beautiful here, don't get me wrong but mid-September had me knocked out with some kind of cold. I think it's safe to say that it is the sickest I can ever remember being. Persistent fever, chills, body aches, cough, allll that yucky stuff. After 3 days with a fever, the midwives did want me to come in. I would have bet money that it was the flu but they said it was actually a bacterial infection working its way into pneumonia. Lovely.

Thank God Jayme was home for exactly the 3 days that I was at my worst. He did a great job taking care of me and being full-time caregiver to Bean. It did, however, make me cry for the single moms out there. What would I have done without him? Yes, I am so blessed to have many people to call on but there is something about the relationship between you and your spouse...you can ask them to do anything for you. Sometimes having them just sit next to you and rub your head is all you need. Gotta say, I would not be asking anyone else to do that for me.

After 5 days on antibiotics I was good as new, except for a lingering cough which still remains.

Evangeline was sick at the beginning of September but got over it in a couple days, in fact, what I had may have been caught from her. But she also has had this lingering cough and congestion ever since. Then last weekend she got her first ear infection and her first round of antibiotics. I hate having my baby on medicine, but it seems to have done the job.

All that to say, it's been a tiring month here and I am off my game. I will give you the positives now:

Evangeline is officially potty-trained! I think it's been about 3 weeks since we started venturing out of the house without diapers. She has done SO well. Of course we still have accidents here and there. Some make sense, (like getting distracted while playing with friends and not wanting to stop to use the potty), and others don't like sitting a foot away from me at home and just going poop in her pants. ???? Guess it's just part of it. She's still in diapers for nap and overnight though sometimes I think that's what's contributing to the accidents. We'd be better off cold turkey but I' not sure I'm up for that yet.

Here are some Fall photos from around here and I will update again Very soon!

Painting her new bureau.

Hanging the pinecone bird feeder she made. (Yes, she definitely hangs out in her underwear a lot.)

Jayme had been gone for a week and she was so happy to have him home that night. She took off her shirt to be shirtless like Papa, then took the socks off of his feet and put them on her. She was so chatty and excited that night, it was adorable.
