Backyard Renovations

Jayme has been working so hard to turn our backyard into a functional and pretty space. In the 5 1/2 years that we have lived here we have barely touched the backyard. Much of the motivation comes from making a good space for Evangeline to have and play in. It's not complete but so much further than it once was so I thought I'd share some pictures of the progress.

A glimpse of the growth behind the kids and the mud/dirt circle they'd play in:

Jayme beginning the brush elimination:

Brush is clear. Now to kill weeds, grind the stumps, and lay new soil and mulch:

Rock border finished. Baby tree/weed cut down:

Ground the stumps, tilled, and raked:

Note the big rocks to the left and bald spots in the grass:

Mulched and nearly finished:

Only things left to do is sledge hammer the big rock tops (the rocks are too big and submerged to remove completely) and attempt to re-soil and grow new grass on all the bald spots, and hang a hammock.

Jayme also built Evangeline a sandbox. It has been the hit of the Spring/Summer. She would play in that and her little baby pool all day. Here's some pictures of the making of that:
